MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE
CYPRESS CITY COUNCIL
HELD
September 17, 2001
The adjourned regular meeting of the Cypress City Council was called to order at 5:40
p.m. by Mayor McGill in the Board Room, West Wing of City Hall, 5275 Orange
Avenue, Cypress, California.
PRESENT: Council Members Keenan, McCoy, Piercy, Mayor Pro Tem Sondhi, Mayor
McGill
ABSENT: None
Also present were City Manager, City Attorney, Agency Counsel, Director of Finance
and Administrative Services, Community Development Director, Planning Manager,
Assistant to the City Manager, and Housing Coordinator.
The City Attorney stated a Closed Session item needed to be added to the agenda
regarding Conference with Legal Counsel - Anticipated Litigation, pursuant to
Government Code Section 54956.9(b), Number of cases: One.
It was moved by Council Member Keenan and seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Sondhi, to
add the item to the Closed Session Agenda.
The motion was unanimously carried by the following roll call vote:

The Redevelopment Agency was convened at 5:43 p.m.

Chairperson Sondhi, Chairperson McGill

JOINT CLOSED SESSION WITH THE CYPRESS REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
The Redevelopment Agency was adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
REPORT OF CLOSED SESSION:
The City Attorney reported that the City Council and Redevelopment Agency met in a
Joint Closed Session regarding Conference with Real Property Negotiators, pursuant to
Government Code Section 54956.8, Property: Approximately 5.28 Acres at Northwest
corner of Orange Avenue and Walker Street within the Civic Center Redevelopment
Project Area; Names of Potential Buyers: Fieldstone Communities, Inc., Brookfield
Southland Holdings, LLC, and Comstock, Crosser & Associates Development Co., Inc.;
Real Property Negotiators: Executive Director, Deputy Executive Director, and Agency
Counsel; Under negotiation: Price and Terms of Payment. The Redevelopment
Agency unanimously authorized its staff to negotiate and bring back for formal Agency
action an exclusive agreement to negotiate between the Redevelopment Agency and
Fieldstone Communities, Inc., for the sale of 5.28 acres of real property commonly
known as Wicker Drive for purposes of constructing a single family detached residential
housing project thereon.

The City Attorney reported that the City Council met in a Closed Session regarding
Conference with Legal Counsel - Anticipated Litigation, pursuant to Government Code
Section 54956.9(b); Number of Cases; One. The City Council unanimously directed
that this item be placed on the next regular City Council agenda, and that the City
Attorney and Mayor Pro Tem Sondhi report back to the Council regarding the issues
involved.
