Ordinance No. 7929 ORDINANCE NO 79 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS AMENDING ORDINANCES NOS 1 ANL 6, WHICH DESIGNATED TFiE TTVF; AND PLACE OF THE MEETINGS OF THE C 1TY COUNCIL. THE. CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS - Section 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 1 of the City of Cypress is amended to read as follows- "The City Council of the City of Cypress shall hold regular meetingh on the third Monday of each month at the hour of 7.30 F M Section 2 Section 2 of said Ordinance No 1, as previously amended by Ord- inance No. 6, is further amended to read as follows- "Meetings of the City Council of the City of Cypress shall be held at 9739 South Valker Street, Cypress, California Section 3 Section 3 of Ordinance No. 6 is amended to read as follows. "The official City Hall, as such is known, where the transaction of the affairs of the City is carried on, is hereby designated as that certain building located at 9737-39 South Walker Street, Cypress, California, which shall be known as the Cypress City Hall Section 4. Except as amended herein, the provisions of Ordinance Nos 1 and 6 shall remain in full force and effect. Section 5 This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an Ordinance for the immediate preservation of the public peace and safety and the facts consti- tuting its urgency are specified as follows - Due to the resignation of the previous City Attorney, the City Council has engaged a new City Attorney, who is also the City Attorney for another city The regular meeting nights of said other city's City Council conflict with those of this City Council It is essential that this City Council have the advice of its City Attorney at all of its meetings, and the foregoing change in meeting nights must therefore take effect immediately The present meeting place of the City Council has proved to be in- adequate to accommodate citizens wishing to attend the meetings of the City Council, with the result that many citizens are not able to properly see and hear at such meetings, and to participate prop- erly therein It is essential that such situation be corrected immediately. The present City Hall is inadequate to house the various city depart- ments and to carry on the necessary work of the city. The space available for the Police Department is insufficient and seriously hampers said Police Department in its work It is essential that such situation be corrected immediately. Ordinance No. 79 _11 Al .ram Section 6 This Ordinance shall take effect immediately, and within fifteen (15) days shall be posted in three public places in the City of Cypress, together with the names of the members of the City Council voting for and against the same.
