Ordinance No. 88ORDINANCE NO 88 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS PRESCRIBING A PRIMA FACIE SPEED LIMIT ON CERTAIN STREETS WITHIN THE CITY OF CYPRESS (REPEALING ORDINANCE NO 68) THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS. SECTION 1: It is hereby determined, upon the basis of an engineering and traffic investigation, that the following prima facie speed limits are most appropriate to facilitate the orderly movement of traffic and are reasonable and safe, and the following are hereby declared to be the prima facie speed limits on the streets designated within the City of Cypress: Denni Road (between Lincoln and Ball Road) - 35 MPH Moody Street (between Lincoln and Cerritos) - 35 MPH Walker Street (between Lincoln and Cerritos) - 30 MPH Valley View (between Lincoln and Cerritos) - 35 MPH Holder Road (between Lincoln and the Southern Pacific Railroad tracks) - 35 MPH Orange Avenue (between Holder Road and the west City limits) - Ball Road (between Holder Road and Bloomfield Avenue) - 45 MPH Cerritos (between Knott and the west City limits) - 45 MPH Katella (between Knott and the west City limits) - 45 MPH Orangewood (between Knott and the west City limits) - 35 MPH Grindley Street (from Lincoln to Orange) - 35 MPH Juanita Street (from Orange Avenue to Ball Road) - 30 MPH SECTION 2• Ordinance No 68 of the City of Cypress, and all Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 3: Pursuant to the provisions of subsection (b) of Section 36937 of the Government Code of the State of California, this Ordinance is for the immediate preservation of the public health and safety and shall take effect immediately 35 MPH The facts constituting the urgency are as follows Traffic volume within the City of Cypress is constantly increasing Certain of the speed limits now in effect are excessive and consti- tute a danger to the public health and safety It is essential that such speed limits be reduced immediately PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of April 1961 by the following called vote: AYES: 4 COUNCILMEN.
