AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS REQUIRING A PERMIT FOR THE
RELOCATION OF BUILDINGS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS
SECTION 1: No building or structure shall be moved from one lot or premises
to another or within a single lot or premises, unless and until the person
desiring to move said building or structure has complied with the following
provisions of this Ordinance
SECTION 2: Application for moving a building shall be made on a form
prescribed for this purpose by the City of Cypress and shall be accompanied
by a filing fee of $25 00, no part of which is refundable
SECTION 3: The following information shall be filed with the Planning
Commission at the time the application is made
A Location and address of the existing structure
B. Location and address of the proposed new site
C Plot plan of the new site showing the proposed location of the
building to be relocated, as well as an indication of all existing
structures and improvements on the lot and on the adjacent lots on
all sides
D Plans and specifications for the proposed improvements of the
building, including landscape treatment.
E Photographs of all elevations of the structure to be moved, photo-
graphs of the site on which the structure is to be moved and
photographs of building or adjacent property to the proposed site.
SECTION 4. Before the Commission may recommend approval of an appli-
cation for moving a building or structure there shall be a finding that said
moving shall not have a detrimental affect on the living environment and
property values in the area into which the structure is to be moved
SECTION 5. Before approving an application for moving a building, the
Commission shall make the following determination
A That the building is in conformity with the type and quality
of buildings existing in the area in which it is proposed to
be moved
B That the proposed relocation will in no way be detrimental to
surrounding property or to the living environment of the area
C That the proposed location will comply with lot area, required
yards, setbacks and all other provisions of the Zoning Ordinance
of the City of Cypress then in effect
D That all dedication and improvements required for streets and alleys
including sidewalks curbs and gutter, necessary for access to the
property upon which the structure is to be located, be provided in
conformity with the standards of the City of Cypress
SECTION 6 Prior to occupancy, the buildings shall be brought up to the
standards of the Building Code for a new building and shall be painted, refur-
bished and maintained at that standard
SECTION 7. Before a building permit may be granted, the applicant or
his agent shall post a bond with the City of Cypress, amount to be estimated
by the Building Inspector, to cover the cost of the required improvements to
bring the building up to standards of the Building Code The bond shall also
cover the cost of all activities involving the City, such as inspections
engineering, and street improvements

SECTION 8 If the vacated site is within the City of Cypress, the bond
shall also cover the cost involved in cleaning up the vacated site and re-
storing it to a safe and sightly condition
SECTION 9• The Building Inspector shall, in the permit, specify the hours
during which the structure may be moved over City streets No such moving
shall be permitted during any hours except those specified in the permit
SECTION 10: Any person firm or corporation violating any of the pro-
visions of this Ordinance or knowingly or intentionally misrepresenting to
any authorized officer of this City, or to the Planning Commission any material
fact in procuring said permit herein provided for, shall be deemed guilty of a
misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be punishable by fine of not
more than $500.00 or by imprisonment in the City Jail or the County Jail of
Orange County for a period of not more than six (6) months, or by both such
fine and imprisonment
The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Ordinance and
shall cause the same to be posted in three (3) public places within the City
limits of the City of Cypress, as prescribed by the City Council
