ORDINANCE NO 94
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS PROHIBITING FALSE ALARMS
The City Council of the City of Cypress does ordain as follows.
SECTION 1
No person shall intentionally make, turn in or give a false
alarm of fire, or of need for police or ambulance assistance, or
aid or abet in the commission of such act.
SECTION 2
No person shall make to, or file with, the Police Department
of the City of Cypress, any false, misleading or unfounded state-
ment or report concerning the commission or alleged commission of
any crime occuring within the City
SECTION 3
A person who violates any provision of this Ordinance is
guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall be
punishable by a fine of not more than Five Hundred Dollars($500.00)
or by imprisonment in the County Jail for a period of not more
than six (6) months, or by both such fine and imprisonment
SECTION 4
Pursuant to the provisions of sub -section b of Section 36937
of the Government Code of the State of California this Ordinance is
for the immediate preservation of the public health and safety and
shall take effect immediately
The facts constituting the urgency are as follows:
The City of Cypress has had serious problems recently
with false alarms Such false alarms seriously endanger
the police and fire services available to the City of
Cypress
PASSED and ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Cypress
at a regular meeting held on the 17th day of kpri1, 1961, by the
following called vote:
AYES. 5 COUNCILMEN: Arrowood, Denni, McCarney, Van Dyke
and Baroldi
NOES: 0 COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: 0 COUNCIIMEN: None
