of the Cypress City H~ll, 5275 Orange Avenue, Cypress, California, Mayor Vickie

PRESENT:
ABSENT:
Councilmembers Coronado, Mullen and Evans
Councilmembers Lacayo and Rowan
The City Council held discussion regarding the seventh year application for the
Housing and Community Development block grant funding with Supervisor Wieder.
The Council expressed concern that the County staff had substantially altered
the funding request of the City and had further indicated that all funding for
public improvements under this program would have to be matched by City dollars,
which is not a Federal requirement. Supervisor Wieder indicated that this matter
would be investigated and that she was not aware of the matching fund requirement
having been adopted as a Board policy.
The City Council advised Supervisor Wieder of the City's ongoing interest in the
Oxford School site and requested the County's assistance at a future date when
a decision regarding the disposition of the facility is made by the Anaheim
Union High School District.
General discussion was held regarding potential Revenue Sharing projects which
could be funded by County Revenue Sharing monies. Supervisor Wieder suggested
that the project funding limitations would be $10,000 to $25,000.
General discussion was also held regarding potential areas of annexation and the
possibility of meeting with the City of La Palma to discuss the County island
areas and the interest in Cypress/Arnold Park.
Supervisor Wieder also advised the Council of the activities of the Orange County
Arts Alliance and suggested that the City might wish to become involved with
that organization in planning future arts and cultural activities.
ADJOURNMENT: It was moved by Councilman Mullen, seconded by Councilman Coronado
and unanimously carried to adjourn the meeting at 8:55 a.m. to Saturday, October
4, at 8:00 a.m. at the Cypress Community Center.
