Minutes 81-11-05MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CYPRESS CITY COUNCIL HELD November 5, 1981 The adjourned regular meeting of the Cypress City Council was called to order at 7:00 p.m., on Thursday, November 5, 1981, in the Administrative Conference Room, Cypress City Hall, 5275 Orange Avenue, Cypress, Califor- nia, Mayor Gerald Mullen presiding. PRESENT: Council MemberS Coronado, Rowan, and Mullen ABSENT: Council Member Lacayo The Council conducted interviews for the position of alternates to the Cypress Senior Citizens Commission. COUNCILM~Jq LACAYO ARRIITED AT 8:15 P.M. Following the interviews, the Council conducted a joint meeting with the Cypress School District's Board of Trustees. PRESENT: Board Members Campbell, Friedmann, and Swain ABSENT: Board Members Bluemke and Cornejo Also present were City Manager/City Clerk Darrell Essex, City Attorney John Murphy and Superintendent of Schools William Calton. The Council and the School Board discussed in some detail the proposed re- development activities of the City of Cypress, as well as reviewing the City's lease of Cypress School and discussing the long-range possibilities of developing unused school properties. The City Attorney reviewed the legal ramifications of the Redevelopment Agency. Mr. Calton reviewed the interest the Board has had in developing a new method in obtaining revenues for unused school sites. He further shared information previously provided the Board by Coldwell Banker relating to an agreement between the Norwalk-La Mirada School District and the La Mirada Redevelopment Agency for the purchase of the closed Neff High School site.
