Resolution No. 6731RESOLUTION NO. 6731 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS, AND ACTING AS EX -OFFICIO BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CYPRESS RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT, REVISING THE CLASS SPECIFICATION OF RECREATION SPECIALIST, ESTABLISHING THE CLASSIFICATION OF PART-TIME RECREATION SPECIALIST AND RECREATION FACILITIES ATTENDANT, AND AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 6716 ESTABLISHING HOURLY PAY RANGES FOR TEMPORARY PART-TIME AND SEASONAL POSITIONS WHEREAS, the Personnel Rules and Regulations of the City of Cypress require that amendments or revisions to the Position Classification Plan, revisions to class specifications or salary adjustments for positions be approved by the City Council, and as acting as ex -officio Board of Directors of the Cypress Recreation and Park District; and WHEREAS, as a standard practice, classifications will be reviewed and revised on a periodic basis or as vacancies occur; and WHEREAS, the class specification for Recreation Specialist has been revised and is attached hereto; and WHEREAS, the class specifications for Part -Time Recreation Specialist and Recreation Facilities Attendant are established and attached hereto; and WHEREAS, the Part -Time Recreation Specialist and Recreation Facilities Attendant positions shall be compensated and eligible for step increases as outlined in the City of Cypress Temporary Part -Time and Seasonal Employee Hourly Pay Ranges. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Cypress, and acting as the ex -officio Board of Directors of the Cypress Recreation and Park District, does hereby adopt the revised class specification for Recreation Specialist, approve the class specification for Part -Time Recreation Specialist and Recreation Facilities Attendant, and that Resolution No. 6716 be amended as indicated below: Effective May 14, 2019, the positions of Part -Time Recreation Specialist and Recreation Facilities Attendant shall be compensated as indicated in Attachment "A" with future pay increases adjusted for Part -Time Recreation Specialist to be consistent with the Recreation Specialist classification represented by the Cypress Employees' Association. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Experience: Equivalent to one year of full-time experience in the programming and delivering of recreation services for adult and/or youth programs, including experience working in lead or supervisory capacity. Education: Completion of at least 12 units of college -level coursework in the field of Social Services, Leisure Services or a related field from an accredited college or university. License: This classification may require an incumbent to drive a City vehicle in the performance of field duties based on assigned program area. An incumbent who is required to drive a City vehicle must possess a valid California driver license and possess and maintain an acceptable driving record. Certificate: Possess valid CPR, First Aid and AED certifications or be able to acquire such certifications within three (3) months of employment. Duties involve frequent interaction with patrons of the City's recreation facilities. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED Receives direct supervision from a Recreation Supervisor. EXAMPLES OF DUTIES Duties may include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following: Perform room set-ups; read daily schedule of events and set up rooms with tables, chairs, and equipment according to the needs of the scheduled use; take down tables and chairs as appropriate. Assist with the maintenance of facility interiors by emptying trash receptacles and spot cleaning floors, windows, counters, sinks, furniture, and walls using a vacuum, mop, broom, and other cleaning equipment. Assist with minor maintenance of facility exteriors. Open, close and secure building. Respond to patron needs for assistance and information. Monitor facility use. Monitor facilities for safety hazards; clean up spills and clear walkways and doorways of obstructions. Assist in special events, general programs, and facility rentals. Perform other duties as assigned.
