Agenda 2021-08-11 (Special Meeting)       AGENDA SPECIAL MEETING CYPRESS CITY COUNCIL August 11, 2021 5:00 P.M.   www.cypressca.org Council Chambers 5275 Orange Avenue Cypress, California SPECIAL NOTICE REGARDING COVID-19 On March 17, 2020, Governor Newsom issued Executive Order N-29-20, which authorizes the City Council to hold public meetings via teleconference or electronically and suspends certain provisions of the Ralph M. Brown Act in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Consistent with the Governor's Orders, members of the public can participate in this meeting as follows: 1.  Attend Virtually via Webinar.  This option provides the ability to provide live public comments during Oral Communications or Public Hearing portions of the meeting and view slideshow presentations. To participate via webinar, please register at https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/register/5349937024994366736. Following registration, you will receive an email containing a link to join the webinar.  Advance registration is recommended. 2.  Attend In-Person.  Limited first-come, first-served seating is available in the Council Chambers.  All in-person attendees are required to wear a face covering regardless of vaccination status, adhere to social distancing and seating restrictions, and must be free of any symptoms associated with COVID-19.  The Council Chambers' seating capacity is approximately 15 people. 3.  Watch the Meeting.  The City Council meeting can be viewed live online at www.cypressca.org/watchlive or on Spectrum Cable Channel 36. 4.  Listen to the Meeting.  The public may participate via the listen-only teleconference mode by calling (415) 930-5321 and entering Access Code 893-711-816 when prompted. No registration or audio pin is necessary. 5.  Submit Public Comments Prior to the Meeting.  The public may submit comments via email to cityclerk@cypressca.org. Comments submitted by 2:00 p.m. on August 11, 2021 will be added to the City Council agenda.        CALL TO ORDER 5:00 P.M. APPROVED BY: Peter Grant, City Manager  CITY OF CYPRESS  CITY COUNCIL REPORT      City Council Special 2.         FROM:Alisha Farnell, City Clerk DATE:08/11/2021 SUBJECT:Conduct Applicant Interviews and Consider Appointment to Fill City Council Vacancy RECOMMENDATION Conduct applicant interviews and consider appointment to fill the City Council vacancy. SUMMARY At its July 12 meeting, the City Council selected to fill the current vacancy on the City Council via an application and interview process. The City Council set the application deadline for July 30, 2021 and scheduled interviews to be held from August 9 through August 13. The City Council also scheduled interviews for 45 minutes per applicant. At its August 9 meeting, the City Council extended the interview schedule through August 17 to accomodate an applicant out of town during the original scheduled timeframe. The schedule of interviews for August 11 is attached. One additional interview will be conducted on August 17. BUDGET IMPACT None. LEGAL REVIEW None required.
