Happy Friday Team Cypress!
We’re opening a COVID-19 testing site Monday on Los Alamitos Race Course at the Seventh Day
Adventist Church (the old golf course clubhouse). It’s a walk-up facility that will be open weekdays
from 8 to 5. Testing will be by appointment only and appointments can be made by visiting
www.covidclinic.org. Big thanks to Lori Erpelding and Scott Ausmus for making this happen.
The Business Recovery Program continues to help support Cypress’ economy. This week Mokkoji
Shabu (a new restaurant located at 4061 Ball Rd) and Daylight Transport (a national freight hauler at
5660 Katella Ave) had fees waived for tenant improvements.
At Monday’s meeting the City Council approved an update of the 2018 community satisfaction
survey. The survey update will be conducted through phone, email and website in multiple
languages and complete in March. The data it produces is very helpful in Strategic Planning and
budgeting and it will, undoubtedly, demonstrate what a great job you all do!
Wednesday, January 19 at 6pm is the first community forum on the California Voting Rights Act
challenge. It’s a virtual forum and I encourage you to watch it (we are recording it and will post it on
the website). I think you’ll find it very informative and that it will generate a lot of feedback for the
City Council to consider as it deliberates on this difficult and important issue.
Enjoy the long weekend!
