Mayor Morales,
I am not a resident of Cypress. I live in Orange County and am very much aware of this
legal opportunist who goes from city to city with the intent of destroying the voting
power of our residents, via district elections. I read about your situation in the Register.
The same opportunist demanded this of my city and the cowardice council bent over
for him – and even paid him tens of thousands of dollars to go away even without a
lawsuit being filed and after agreeing to form voting districts.
I applaud you and your colleagues who voted to challenge these strongarm tactics that
dilutes the voice of the people. Your proactive stance is admirable and shows us that 4
of you have courage and stand behind the rights of your residents.
