220323 1027 Cypress Planning DecisionsFrom:tomascorrigan@gmail.com To:Jon Peat; Paulo Morales; Scott Minikus; Anne Hertz-Mallari; Frances Marquez Cc:ADM Subject:Cypress Planning Decisions Date:Wednesday, March 23, 2022 10:26:47 AM Good Day Cypress City Council; I hope all is well, from my view at 6417 sombrereo ave things are going well. I have been informed that there may be plans to install restrooms at our park Maple Grove. I have lived here since 1999 and in Los Alamitos since 1961, I know the area. There has never been any need for public restrooms at Maple Grove North Park. It is a small local park visited primarily by homeowners who have no need for public restrooms. Public restrooms will have quite the negative effect on our quality of life and property values, in addition, the park is not big enough to comfortably situate restrooms. In Eastgate park in Garden Grove the restrooms have been closed for months due to vandalism. In the park behind the sheriff station in Stanton the bathrooms are permanently closed due to the homeless situation they attract. Decisions like this need to be made by the homeowners and we will elect council persons who are responsive to the residents of Cypress. I have spoken with many of my neighbors and they agree that there is no need for restrooms in the three parks along Orangewood. We recently had a motorhome parked in our neighborhood at Maplegrove for over a week, with restrooms it could become a magnate for such activity. Finally, what are the plans for Holder/Springdale? There was talk of opening Holder up to through traffic between Katella and Orangewood, this might please Amazon but it will be very detrimental to our quality of life and property values. This should never happen. Please forward this communication to Peter Grant, I did not see his email online. Thank you and happy to chat on these issues and more.
