Council Member Marquez,
The information is available on the website and this is the correct link:
https://www.cypressca.org/departments/public-works/trash-recycling. The information can be
found more reliably by navigating to it from the website menus. As you experienced, the website
and its links are dynamic – meaning they regularly update and change. It appears you are trying to
follow a static link (perhaps the one I emailed the City Council last week at your request). By their
very nature, static links expire. That does not mean the information was removed from the website
or disabled. Users needs to follow website menus/navigation to locate information and pages rather
than expect a static link to remain functional.
While I appreciate your clarification, the way you characterize the expired link is more troublesome
than the tone or tact. I remain available for phone calls or in-person meetings should you choose to
take advantage of them to avoid miscommunication.

Peter,
I apologize if my message was misconstrued. Sometimes tact and tone is lost over email
communication. I appreciate the hard work staff does everyday. I am simply alerting you to
the fact that the day after I raised this issue in our meeting the link to the Valley Vista contract
is not working. I am simply asking for a swift remedy to this issue so that the public can have
full access to these documents.
Sincerely,
Frances

Council Member Marquez,
You are incorrect. The webpage that contains information about the trash franchise is
fully operational. I checked it personally immediately upon receiving your email and
confirmed with our IT team that the entire website has been 100% operational all day
long. If you have a screen capture of the "disabled" webpage, email it to me and staff
will identify your error.
Your accusation that city staff disabled the website is outrageous and unprofessional.
The harassment prevention training you have received requires you rescind the
accusation, apologize and refrain from creating a hostile workplace, impugning city
staff's integrity, or baselessly questioning our ethics.
Cypress is extraordinarily transparent about the trash franchise. Our website provides
comprehensive information that far exceeds what most other cities make available. If
you have suggestions about how to enhance the page, provide them to me.

Peter,
Last night I raised concerns the Citizens of Cypress have regarding the rate increase
under the Valley Vista Contract. This morning I noticed that the City of Cypress
webpage for the Valley Vista contract documents has been disabled. I do not
understand why this is the case and the timing is questionable. For the sake of full
transparency for the Citizens of Cypress full access to these documents should be
restored as soon as possible and without delay.
Sincerely,
Frances
