220412 0931 RE_ Maple Grove NorthFrom:Peter Grant To:Frances Marquez Subject:RE: Maple Grove North Date:Tuesday, April 12, 2022 9:31:09 AM Council Member Marquez, Thank you for letting me know Mr. Lubben is incorrect. Your concern about Mr. Lubben’s truthfulness would best be directed to him and/or his original post. The purpose of my communication to the City Council was to provide an accurate account of this project’s administrative record. When social media posts are shared with the City Council it is to provide context/background on a public discussion. The city does not fact check private party posts nor is it concerned with where/how someone obtains information (accurate or not). The city is simply interested in correcting the record. I’m sure you recall the famous quote from Senator Moynihan, “Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not his own facts.” Peter Grant City Manager City of Cypress Office 714-229-6680 Cellular 714-335-1685 pgrant@cypressca.org From: Frances Marquez <fmarquez@cypressca.org> Sent: Monday, April 11, 2022 16:16 To: Peter Grant <pgrant@cypressca.org> Cc: Douglas Dancs <DDancs@cypressca.org>; Jeff Draper <JDraper@cypressca.org>; Fred Galante <fgalante@awattorneys.com>; Michele Magar <tanyaprojectmlp@gmail.com> Subject: Re: Maple Grove North Peter, Mr. Luebben is incorrect. I did not canvass the neighborhood with residents. They made a flyer and canvassed the neighborhood themselves. Please share this information with my colleagues. You presented this information to my colleagues without confirming whether it was true. This approach hurts my relationship with my colleagues. As you’ll recall, the Maple Grove North bathroom project was discussed during your February 28 meeting as part of the CIP update. PW reported the city would begin soliciting bids in March. The project was not approved and as you know, our bidding process calls for several City Council approvals before an infrastructure project is approved/begins. This is (at least) the third time this project has come before you – the first was when it was proposed; the second was when the current CIP was unanimously adopted in June 2021 (that was a new business item and this project was highlighted and discussed in the agenda report). I don’t have access to the Facebook group former Council Member Luebben posted, but would be happy to contact him if you can share his contact information. <image001.png>
