B8 rigs along with several units from Anaheim Fire Department took part in a Multi
Company drill located at the old Marie Calendars building in Buena Park. With the
cooperation of Chick-Fil-A,we were granted full access to the building for 5 days for
training. We had several probationary firefighters take part in the drill and be able to do
other operations including breaching and vertical ventilation.Heavy Rescue 6 was able
to train with their new concrete chain saw and other concrete breaching tools.
This training also provided opportunities for those who are in the promotional process to
"move up"and run the call from new positions. The drill had multiple scenarios including
victim rescue and lost FF providing them with a dynamic training environment while in
the field.
A big thank you to ECC for providing a frequency and support behind the scenes.Using a
repeated frequency provided a realistic training environment for radio discipline and the
sometimes-difficult time in hearing those "on air"doing interior work.
