Recommendation: That the City Council approve the Minutes of December

Consideration of Proclaiming February 17 - 24, 1985, as "Medical
Assistants Week".
Recommendation: That the Mayor and City Council officially proclaim
February 17 - 24, 1985, as "Medical Assistants Week" in the City
of Cypress as requested.
Consideration of Authorization for the Chief of Police to Attend
the 8th Annual California Police Chiefs Association Conference.
Recommendation: That the City Council authorize the attendance
of Police Chief Ron Lowenberg to the 8th Annual California Police
Chiefs Association Conference to be held on February 6 - 9, 1985,
in Fresno, California, and be reimbursed for all actual and necessary
expenses incurred.
Consideration of Claim Submitted by Richard Conway, Attorney, on
Behalf of Elvira A. Richmond.
Recommendation: That the City Council officially reject the subject
claim and refer it to the City's Claim Adjuster, Carl Warren
& Company, for appropriate disposition.
Consideration of Authorization for the Finance Director to Attend
the 25th Annual California Society of Municipal Finance Officers
Seminar.
Recommendation: That the City Council authorize the attendance
of Finance Director, Larry Hurst, to the 25th Annual California
Society of Municipal Finance Officers Seminar to be held in San
Jose, California, on February 6 - 9, 1985, and be reimbursed
for all actual and necessary expenses incurred.
Consideration of Renewal of Maintenance Contract for the Cleaning
of Cypress Village Patio Home Public Parking Areas (Tract 8126,
North of Orangewood, Between Holder and Knott).
Recommendation: That the City Council renew the maintenance contract
with Larry Sweeden Landscape Service, 1557 East Puento, Covina,
California 91723, for weekly cleaning of the public parking areas
in Tract 8126 for a period of twelve (12) months at a monthly
fee of $220.00.
Consideration of Acceptance of the Installation of Street Lights
for the Community Development Project, Eighth Year H/CD Program,
Bishop Street, Watson Street, and Grindlay Street, City of Cypress
Project No. 7938-10.
Recommendation: That the City Council 1) Accept the street light
installations by Scott Gillis and Company of Temecula, California,
on Bishop Street, Watson Street, and Grindlay Street for the
Community Development Project (Eighth Year of the City's H/CD
Program) as being satisfactorily completed in accordance with
the Plans and Specifications; and 2) Authorize the City Clerk
to release the Labor and Materials Bond upon expiration of the
required lien period, providing no liens have been filed, and
to release the Faithful Performance Bond upon expiration of one
year's guarantee, providing no defects in materials or workmanship
become evident.
16. Consideration of Employee Assistance Program Contract Renewal.
Recommendation: That the City Council and acting as the ex officio
governing Board of Directors of the Cypress Recreation and Park
District authorize staff to renew the contract with O.C.E.A.N.
to continue to provide City and District employees with an Employee
Assistance Program.

League of California Cities' City Managers Department Annual
Meeting.
Recommendation: That the City Council authorize the attendance of the City Manager to the League of California Cities' City
Managers Department Annual Meeting to be held in Monterey, California,
on February 13 - 15, 1985, and be reimbursed for all actual and
necessary expenses incurred.
Consideration of Resolution of the City Council of the City of Cypress
Designating a Redevelopment Survey Area.
Recommendation: That the City Council adopt the Resolution by title
