Minutes 87-06-01 ( 1/ 421 MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CYPRESS CITY COUNCIL HELD June 1. 1987 Mayor Kanel called the adjourned regular meeting of the Cypress City Council to order at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. June 1. 1987. in the Administrative Conference Room of the Cypress City Hall. 5275 Orange Avenue. Cypress. California. PRESENT: Councilmembers Arnold. Coronado. Davis. Mullen & Kanel ABSENT: None Also present were City Manager/City Clerk Darrell Essex. Planning Director Chris Eynon. Public Works Director Bob Beardsley. Finance Director Larry Hurst. Assistant City Manager David Barrett. Police Chief Ron Lowenberg. Park and Recreation Director Marvin DeCarlo and Employee Relations Director Nancy Leonard. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: No Oral Communications were presented at this time. CONTINUATION OF CONSIDERATION OF 1987-88 BUDGET WORKSHOP: Each department presented the goals and objectives for the 1987-88 Fiscal Year. General discussion was held by the Council regarding the various budget programs and each of the proposed new employee positions were reviewed. Councilman Mullen was required to leave the meeting at 10:00 p.m. The City Council requested the staff to evaluate the street sweeping program with specific concern over the continuation of the contract with the City of La Palma. Council also discussed the need for expediting the street widening on Denni Street just south of Lincoln and requested staff to investigate the condition of the concrete work in the area of Cambridge north of Orange Avenue. Staff was also requested to prepare a summary of the municipal cable program including the revenues received by the City for implementing the municipal cable television system. Councilwoman Arnold left the meeting at 11:25 p.m. The Deferred Business items: Continuation of Consideration of Communication From the Cypress High School Business Department Requesting Financial Assistance to Purchase a Desktop Publishing System, and Continuation of Consideration of Employer/Employee Negotiations were continued to the next meeting. June 8, 1987. Following further discussion regarding the amount of contracting that the City currently uses in providing municipal services. it was moved by Councilman Coronado and seconded by Councilman Davis and unanimously passed to adjourn the meeting at 11:30 p.m. HA~k~ESS ATTEST: II ,~~ f '7~::J .
