Minutes 88-05-31 ( / / 244 MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING OF THE CYPRESS CITY COUNCIL HELD May 31, 1988 , Mayor Pro Tem William Davis called the adjourned meeting of the Cypress City Council to order at 7:33 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 1988, in the Administrative Conference Room, 5275 Orange Avenue, Cypress, California. PRESENT: Councilmembers: Davis, Kanel and Mullen ABSENT: Councilmembers: Arnold and Coronado Also present were City Manager/City Clerk Darrell Essex, Planning Director Chris Eynon. Public Works Director Bob Beardsley, Finance Director Larry Hurst, Assistant City Manager David Barrett, Police Chief Ron Lowenberg, Recreation and Park Director Marvin DeCarlo and Assistant to the City Manager Nancy Leonard. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: There were no Oral Communications for matters on the Agenda. Item #2, CONSIDERATION OF BUDGET WORKSHOP, was taken out of order and the City Manager introduced the budget presentation and each department presented their goals and objectives for the 1988-89 Fiscal Year. Councilman Coronado arrived at 7:44 p.m. Councilman Kanel suggested that if any of the Councilmembers had questions between now and June 13, 1988, they could call the City Manager and ask that they be brought up at that meeting. General discussion was held by the Council regarding the various budget programs, cable television, community development, data processing equipment and employee matters. Mayor Arnold arrived at 8:40 p.m. The City Manager stated that the budget will be presented for adoption at the June 27 Council meeting and the June 13 meeting will be for the Council's further discussion and comment. The Council also expressed concern about the need for street improvements, street widening on Juanita and drainage conditions at the Texaco tank farm. Councilman Mullen left the meeting at 9:50 p.m. In regard to Item #1, CONSIDERATION OF INTERVIEW SCHEDULE FOR THE REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT AREA COMMITTEE, after some discussion, it was decided that interviews for committee members will be conducted at 5:30 on June 13, 1988 and will be five minutes per applicant. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: There were no Oral Communications for matters not on the Agenda.
