Minutes 90-05-01 392 ~ MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CYPRESS CITY COUNCIL HELD May 1, 1990 An Adjourned Regular Meeting of the Cypress City Council was called to order at 4:04 p.m., Tuesday, May 1, 1990, in the City Council Chamber, 5275 Orange Avenue, Cypress f, Mayor Cecilia Age presiding. PRESENT: Councilmembers Bowman, Kanel and Age ABSENT: Councilmembers.,Arnold and Kerry Also present was City Manager/City Clerk Darrell Essex. ' ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: For Matters on the Agenda. No one wished to speak. ~ CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION RECITING THE FACT OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON APRIL 24. 1990: The City Manager presented the staff report I dated April 27, 1990, which indicated that the State Elections Code requires the City Council to adopt a Resolution reciting the fact of the Special Municipal Election following the canvass of the election returns. It was moved by Councilmember Kanel and seconded by Councilmember Bowman to adopt the Resolution by title only, title as follows, reciting the fact of the Special Municipal Election held on April 24, 1990, in the City of Cypress. RESOLUTION N0. 3742 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON APRIL 24, 1990, DECLARING THE RESULT AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW AND BY THE PROVISIONS OF THE CITY CHARTER. The motion unanimously carried by the following roll call vote: AYES: 3 COUNCILMEMBERS: Bowman, Kanel and Age ~ NOES: 0 COUNCILMEMBERS: None ' ABSENT: 2 COUNCILMEMBERS: Arnold and Kerry In accordance with Section 5 of the above Resolution No. 3743, the following is a statement of the results of said election: 1. That the whole number of votes cast in the City except absent voter and provisional ballots was 3349. The whole number of absent voter and provisional ballots cast in the City was 475, making a total of 3824 votes cast in the City. 2. That the Measure voted upon at the election is as follows: i SHALL THE ORDINANCE enacting a General Plan Amendment and a Zone Change for 298.6 acres of ~ real property, bounded by Cerritos Avenue, Walker YES Street, Katella Avenue and Denni/Lexington Street, designating Business Park uses for 75 acres of the property on the east and south sides of the NO Los Alamitos Race Track and designating Public/ Semi-Public uses for the remaining 223.6 acres of said property, which includes the 93.6 acre golf course and the 130 acre race track, be approved? 3. The number of votes given at each precinct and the number of votes given in the for and against the Measure were as listed in Exhibit "A" attached. As a result of the election, a majority of the voters voting on the Measure relating to the property surrounding the Los Alamitos Race Track did vote in favor of it, and that the Measure was carried and shall be deemed adopted and ratified. 1 C~~'..' 1 r ~ N City Council Minutes May 1, 1990 ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: For Matters Not on the Agenda.
