A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS
MAKING APPLICATION TO THE LOCAL AGENCY FORMATION COMMIS-
SION OF ORANGE COUNTY FOR THE INITIATION OF PROCEEDINGS
FOR THE DETACHMENT OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY
FROM THE CYPRESS COUNTY WATER DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, the District Reorganization Act of 1965 provides that the govern-
ing body of any affected city may make application by resolution for the detach-
ment of certain territory from a district and that such application shall be
considered a mandatory application; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cypress hereby desires that pro-
ceedings be initiated by the Local Agency Formation Commission of Orange
County for the detachment of that certain uninhabited portion of the Cypress
County Water District, hereinafter described, located and included within
the boundaries of the City of Cypress; and
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Cypress hereby does resolve,
determine and find as follows:
Section 1. This proposal is made pursuant to Division 1 of Title 6 of the
Government Code of the State of California, known as "The
District Reorganization Act of 1965."
Section 2. The nature of the change of organization proposed hereby is a
"detachment, " and the name of the district for which such
change of organization is proposed is the "Cypress County
Water District."
Section 3. The territory which is proposed to be detached from said
District is located in the State of California, County of
Orange, City of Cypress, and is more particularly described
as:
A parcel of land situated in the County of Orange, State of
California, and being a portion of Section 17, Township 4 South,
Range 11 West in the Rancho Los Coyotes, as said Section is
shown on a map recorded in Book 51, page 11 of Miscellaneous
Maps in the office of the County Recorder of said County;
Beginning at the northwest corner of the northeast quarter of
the northeast quarter of said Section 17; thence North 89° 47 '
30" East 65.00 feet along the North line of said Section,
said line being the centerline of Lincoln Avenue, to a point
on the East line of the West 65.00 feet of the Northeast
quarter of the Northeast quarter of said Section 17, said
East line being the current corporate boundary of the City
of Cypress as defined by the Buell Annexation, Ordinance No.
132, said point being the true point of beginning:
THENCE (1) Leaving said corporate boundary, North 89° 47 ' 30"
East 571.30 feet along said centerline of Lincoln
Avenue to intersect the East line of the West 10.0
acres of the North-half of the northeast quarter of
the northeast quarter of said Section 17;
THENCE (2) South 0° 22' 31" East 672.78 feet along said East
line to an angle point in said corporate boundary
per the Schipper Annexation No. 5, Ordinance No. 35;
THENCE (3) South 0° 22' 31", 11.66 feet along the boundary of
said Annexation to an angle point in said corporate
boundary per the Hoffman Annexation, Ordinance No.
261;

THENCE (4) South 89° 41' 35" West, 635.96 feet, along the; ;;
corporate boundary as defined by said Hoffman
Annexation, to the West line of the northeast
quarter of the northeast quarter of said Section
17;
THENCE (5) North 0° 22' 25" West, 285.53 feet along said West
line and along said corporate boundary as defined
by said Buell Annexation to the south line of
the north 400 feet of the northeast quarter of
the northeast quarter of said Section 17, and along
the said Buell Annexation the following 2 courses;
THENCE (6) North 89° 47' 30" East, 65.00 feet along said south
line to the east line of the West 65.00 feet of the
northeast quarter of the northeast quarter of said
Section 17;
THENCE (7) North 0° 22' 25" West 400 feet along said East line
to the North line of the Northeast quarter of the North-
east quarter of said Section 17 and the true point of
beginning.
Said parcel containing 9.40 acres, more or less .
Section 4. The reason for this proposal is to relieve the territory from
double taxation.
WHEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Cypress requests that proceed-
ings be initiated for the change of organization proposed hereby.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Cypress at a regular
meeting held on the 13th day of February, 1973.
