SENIOR CITIZENS COMMISSION

A special joint meeting of the Cypress City Council and Senior Citizens Commission was
called to order at 5:37 p.m. by Mayor Minikus in the Council Chambers, 5275 Orange
Avenue, Cypress, California.

INVOCATION Deacon Israel Rodriguez, St. Irenaeus Catholic Church, led the invocation.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Council Member Mallari led the Pledge of Allegiance
PRESENTATIONS
The City Council presented a Certificate of Recognition to Cypress Resident Madden
Ramirez for assisting to reunite Freddy the K9 with his family.
The City Council accepted a donation from the Senior Center Line Dancers group and
recognized their efforts to support the Senior Center.
The Senior Citizens Commission presented Carlos Ramirez with the Grace Lachina
Outstanding Senior Recognition Award.
The Recreation Supervisor introduced Senior Center staff members Taylor Burtle, Alexis
Corral, Vanessa Banuelos, Katherine Diaz, and Carol Shore.

Item No. 1: Receive the Annual Update from the Senior Citizens Commission
The Director of Recreation and Community Services provided a report on this item.
No action was taken.
ADJOURNMENT
By motion of Council Member Mallari, and seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Peat, the Mayor
adjourned the meeting at 6:18 p.m. The next regular meeting of the City Council will be
held on Monday, August 26, 2024, beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the Exe tive Board Room.
