CRA 94-03-14 MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE
CYPRESS REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY
HELD
March 14, 1994
Agency Chairman Partin called the meeting of the Cypress Redevelopment
Agency to order at 1:05 a.m. on Tuesday, March 15, 1994, in the Council
Chamber, 5275 Orange Avenue, Cypress.
PRESENT:Agency Members Age, Bowman, Kerry, Nicholson and Partin
ABSENT: None
MINUTES: It was moved by Agency Member Nicholson and seconded by Agency
Member Kerry to approve the Minutes of January 10, 1994 as submitted. The
motion unanimously carried by the following roll call vote:
AYES:5 AGENCY MEMBERS: Age, Bowman, Kerry, Nicholson and Partin

ABSENT: 0 AGENCY MEMBERS: None
CONSIDERATION OF MARKETING PROGRAM: The Executive Director requested the
Deputy Executive Director to present the staff report dated March 9, 1994,
which indicated that staff was directed to research several costs related
to the future marketing of the City of Cypress at a January 24, 1994
workshop session. Specifically, the Agency Board requested that staff
obtain the following bids: 1) from the Chamber of Commerce regarding the
coordination of Mayor/Council breakfasts with community business owners; 2)
from Glen McIntire and Associates, the company that prepared the Warland
marketing brochure, to prepare a City/Agency brochure of a similar style
and quality; and 3) from Penny Dash regarding the preparation of press
releases for City/Agency promotion articles. Sample marketing brochures
were presented for Councills viewing.
Mr. Glen McIntire, Glen McIntire and Associates, volunteered to answer any
questions from the Council about the brochures.
Responding to Councilmember Age, the Planning Director replied that if the
Council liked his work and wanted to retain him, a workshop would be set up
because there are a number of questions Mr. McIntire had pertaining to the
proposed brochure.
The Deputy Executive Director stated that she needed authorization on all
three items, with the workshop session to be scheduled at the Tuesday,
March 22, 1994 meeting.
It was moved by Councilmember Kerry and seconded by Councilmember Bowman to
approve: the Chamber of Commerce's bid of $3,000, which would provide for
a full sit down breakfast; the proposal received from Glen McIntire and
Associates regarding preparation of a City/Agency brochure in the range of
$6,200-$8,400 with an additional workshop and contract with Penny Dash for
preparing press releases at $20 per hour. The motion unanimously carried
by the following roll call vote:
