Minutes 63-01-14MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS AT AN ADJOURNED MEETING HELD January 14, 1963 The City Council of the City of Cypress met in adjourned session on January 14, 1963 at 7:30 P. M., in the Council Chambers, 9471 South Walker, Cypress, California, Mayor Van Dyke presiding. PRESENT: ABSENT: Gordon, Gorzeman, Noe, Wright and Van Dyke None Also present were: City Manager, Darrell Essex; City Attorney, Rodger Howell; City Clerk, Ferne S~ Phillips and Assistant City Engineer, Ronald Nottingham. MINUTES: It was moved by Councilman Noe, seconded by Councilman Wright and unanimously carried, the Minutes of December 17, 1962 be approved as mailed. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: There were no oral cormnunications presented at this time. PUBLIC HEARING RE: "STINSON ANNEXATIOn': The Mayor announced this was the time and place for the public hearing to consider protests in the proposed "Stinson Annexation', located north of Lincoln on the east side of Acacia Street, and asked if anyone wished to speak for or against this proposed annexation. Mr. J. L. Munch, 8582 Acacia St., Cypress addressed the City Council stating he wished to protest the annexation on the basis of an increased tax rate. The City Manager read in full a written conmunication from Mr. J. L. Munch, 8582 Acacia St., Cypress in protest of the proposed annexation on the basis of an increased tax rate. There being no other writtenl cormnunications and no further oral protests, the Mayor declared the public hearing closed. It was moved by Councilman Wright, seconded by Councilman Noe, and unanimously carried, the City Council determine there were insufficient protests and proceed with the annexation of this territory. It was moved by Councilman Wright, seconded by Councilman Noe and unanimously carried, the following Ordinance be read by title only: ORDINANCE NO. AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS APPROVING THE ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY, DESIGNATED "STINSON ANNEXATIOn' TO THE CITY OF CYPRESS. It was moved by Councilman Wright, seconded by Councilman Noe and unanimously carried, this Ordinance pass its first reading by the following called vote: AYES: 5 COUNCILMEN: NOES: 0 COUNCILMEN: ABSENT: 0 COUNCILMEN: Gordon, Gorzeman, Noe, Wright and Van Dyke None None January 14, 1963 PUBLIC HEARING RE: "CAROB STREET ANNEXATIOI~': The Mayor announced this was the time and place for the public hearing to consider protest in the proposed "Carob Street AnnexatioN' located north of Crescent and east of Tract No. 4470 and asked if anyone wished to speak for or against this proposed annexation. There being no written communications and no oral protests, the Mayor declared the public hearing closed. It was moved by Councilman Noe, seconded by Councilman Wright and unanimously carried, the City Council determines there were no protests filed and proceed with the annexation of this territory. It was moved by Councilman Noe, seconded by Councilman Gordon and unanimously carried, the following Ordinance be read by title only: ORDINANCE NO. It was moved by Councilman Noe, seconded by Councilman Gorzeman and unanimously carried, this Ordinance pass its first reading by the following called vote: AYES: 5 COUNCILMEN: NOES: 0 COUNCILMEN: ABSENT: 0 COUNCILMEN: Gordon, Gorzeman, Noe, Wright and Van Dyke None None REQUEST FOR WAIVER OF DRAINAGE REQUIREMENTS BY CATHOLIC CHURCH ON GRINDlAY: The City Manager reported to the City Council the Catholic Church had requested a waiver of the drainage requirements for the proposed development on Grindlay Street. After considerable discussion, it was moved by Councilman Wright, seconded by Councilman Gorzeman and unanimously carried, the conditions set forth on the Conditional Use Permit obtained for the development of this property, be enforced as originally stated. ADJOURMMENT: There being no further business to come before the City Council, it was moved by Councilman Gorzeman, seconded by Councilman Gordon and unanimously carried, the meeting adjourn at 8:05 P.
