CANVASS OF RESULTS OF SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON MAY 11~ 1965: The
Mayor mnounced this was the time and place for the City Council to canvass the
results of the Special Muncipal Election held on May 11, 1965.
The City Clerk presented the City Council with the Tally Sheets and the Result
of Votes Cast as prepared by each of the five Election Precinct Boards and the
Absentee Ballot Canvass Board for the election.
During the canvass it was noted that in Precinct No.3, the total number of
votes cast was two more than the total ballots tallied on the tally sheet.
The City Manager stated that he had checked this discrepancy with Martin &
Chapman Company, Election Suppliers, who advised that since the number of
votes cast did not exceed the number of voters who signed the roster, and since
the difference did not affect the results of the election, the City Council, as
the Canvassing Board, ~ould accept the result of the vote as submitted by the
precinct.
