AT AN ADJOURNED REGULAR MEETING
HELD
Jane 11, 1967
The City Coancil of the city of Cypress held an adjourned regular meeting on
Sunday, June 11, 1967, at 10:00 a.m., at the West Wing Conference Room of the
Cypress Civic Center, 5275 Orange Avenue, Cypress, California, all notices
having been posted as required by l~w, Mayor Robert C. Harvey presiding.
PRESENT: Councilmen Bowen, Kanel, Noe, and Harvey
ABSENT: Councilman McCarney
Also present were City Manager/City Clerk Darrell Essex, Assistant City
Manager Darrell Dalton, and Finance Director Jim Grissom.
1967-68 BUDGET DISCUSSIONS RE: SALARIES: Discussions were held with the
City Manager and Assistant City Manager regarding employees' salaries.
After discussion, it was moved by Councilman Bowen and seconded by Councilman
Noe to adopt a Resolution removing the following Department Heads from the
salary schedule plan: Public Works Director, Assistant City Manager, Police
Chief, Building Superintendent, Planning Director, and Finance Director. The
title of the Resolution is as follows:
RESOLUTION NO. 784
ARESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS
AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 607, SECTION 1, CONCERNING THE
BASIC COMPENSATION PLAN FOR ALL EMPLOYEES IN THE
MUNICIPAL SERVICE IN THE CITY OF CYPRESS.
The motion was unanimously carried by the following roll call vote:

Further discussion was held regarding salaries for individual Department Heads.
As a result of these discussions, it was recon~nended that the City Manager
include the following amoants in the 1967-68 Budget for the Department Heads'
annual salaries.

Assistant City Manager
Police Chief
Building Superintendent
Planning Director
Finance Director

Following further discussion regarding employees' salaries, various revisions
were made which the City Coancil instructed the City Manager to include in the
final Budget document to be presented to the City Council at ies regular meeting
of Jane 26, 1967.
The City Council also instructed the City Manager to include an amoant of
$19,500 as the 1967-68 salary for the City Manager position.

It was moved by Coancilman Noe, seconded by Coancilman Kanel and unanimously
carried to adjourn this meeting at 2:50 p.m.
