OF THE CYPRESS CITY COUNCIL
HELD
June 7, 1969
An Adjourned Regular Meeting of the Cypress City Council was called to order
at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 1969, in the Administrative Conference Room
of the Civic Center, 5275 Orange Avenue, Cypress, with all required Notices
of Adjournment having been posted and with Mayor Kanode presiding.
PRESENT: Councilmen Harve~ Noe and Kenode
ABSENT: Councilmen Bowen and Kanel
Also present was City Manager/City Clerk Darrell Essex.
The City Manager reviewed the schedule for budget discussions suggesting that
the Council commence with the review of the Building Department budget. The
City Council proceeded to review all departmental budgets.
COUNCILMAN BOWEN ARRIVED AT 9:0~ A.M.
COUNCILMAN KANEL ARRIVED AT 9:20 A.M.
Budget discussions continued until 12:30 p.m. at which time it was moved by
Councilman Noe, seconded by Councilman Bowen and unanimously carried to
recess for lunch until 1:30 p.m. The meeting was called back to order at
1:30 p.m., with all City Councilmen present.
The City Council resumed budget discussions.
It was moved by Councilman Noe, seconded by Councilman Bowen and unanimously
carried to place consideration of employment of the Jr. engiheerin~ aide on the
agenda for consideration at this time.
The City Manager requested that the Jr. engineering aide position which was pro-
posed in the 1969-70 budget be authorized at this time in order to allo~ the
successful candidate for the position to be employed during the last two
weeks of June prior to the effective date of the budget.
It was moved by Councilman Noe and seconded by Councilman Bowen to authorize
the employment of the Jr. engineering aide for the remainder of the 1968-69
fiscal year. The motion was unanimously carried by the following roll call
vote:

At the request of the City Manager, it was moved by Councilman Noe, seconded
by Councilman Bowen and unanimously carried to place on the agenda=this time
consideration of recruitment for th~ positions of secretary and principal
engineering aide. The City Manager requested permission to commence recruit-
ment for the positions of secretary in the Planning Department and principal
engineering aide in the Engineering Division to expedite the appointment of
persons to these vacancies which will exist prior to the end of the current
fiscal year.
It was moved by Councilman Noe, secondedby Councilman Kanel and unanimously
carried to authorize the City Manager to commence recruitment for the posi-
tions of secretary and principal engineering aide.
ADJOURNMENT:
There being no further business to come before the City Council, it was moved
by Councilman Noe, seconded by Conncilman Harvey to adjourn the meeting at
5:25 p.m.
