OF THE CYPRESS CITY COUNCIL
HELD
July 13, 1970
A special meeting of :the Cypress City Cotmoil was called to order at 2:30 p.m.,
on Monday, July 13, 1970, in the City Council Cba-a~ers, 5275 Orange Avenue,
Cypress, California, for the purpose of a Joint-meeting with the Cypress
Planning Commission, with Mayor Pro Tern Otto tacayo presiding.
PRESENT: Co~mcilmen Kanode, Roberrs and Lacayo
ABSENT: Councilmen Harvey and Mayor Kanel
Also present were City Manager/City Clerk Darrell Essex, and the following
members of the City Staff: Dunlap, Poertner, Schatzeder, Coakley, and Putnam.
The adjourned meeting of the Cypress Planning Cornre4 ssion was called to order
at 2:32 p.m. with Vice-Chairma~ Viokie Evans presiding.
PRESENT: Comm4esioners Ricker, Warren and Evans
ABSENT: Commissioners SonJu and Cardoza
It was moved by Co-~4ssiuner Warren, seconded by Commissioner Ricker and
unanimously carried to defer to couecilmatic procedures at this time.
Councilmm% Roberrs stated that the record should reflect that Mayor Kanelwas
not present, as he was on City business in Washingtun, D.C.
It was moved by Councilman Roberrs, seconded by Councilman Kenode and unanimously
carried to adjourn to the Administrative Conference Room at 2:34 p.m.
It was moved by Commissioner Warren, seconded by Commissioner Ricker and unanimously
carried for the Planning Covmn4 ssion to adjourn to the Administrative Conference
Room.
CALL TO ORDER:
The meeting was called to order at 2:37 p.m., in the Administrative Conference
Room, 5275 Orange. Avenue, Cypress, California, with Mayor Pro Tem Otto Lacayo
presiding,
PRESENT: Councilmen Harvey, Kanode, Roberrs and Lacayo
ABSENT: Mayor Kanel
The meeting of the Cypress Planning Commission was called to order at 2:38 p.m.,
in the Administrative Conference Room, with Vice-Chairman Evans presiding.
PRESENT: Commissioners Ricker, Warren and Evans
ABSENT: Commissioners SonJu and Cardoza
The City Manager stated that the purpose of the Joint-meeting was to review
the preliminary draft of the Urban Townscape Element of the General Plan which
will be brought before the City Council and the Planning Co-,,4 ssion for Public
Hearings. The City Manager then introduced Mrs. Royce Neuechatz, Eckbo, Dean, Austin
& Willjams Consultant, who reviewed in detail the preliminary draft of the Town-
scape Plan.
ADJOURNMENT:
Following discussion regarding the townscape proposals, it was moved by Councilman
Kanode, seconded by Councilmsm Robarts and unanimously carried to adjourn the
meeting at 3:55 p.m.
