OF THE CYPRESS CITY COUNCIL
HELD
August i0, 1970
The adjourned regular meeting of the Cypress City Council was called to order
at 3:00 p.m., on Monday, August 10, 1970, in the City Council Chambers,
5275 Orange Avenue, Cypress, Califonlia, Mayor John Kmlel presiding.
PRESENT: Councilmen Harvey, Roberrs and Kanel
ABSENT: Councilmen Kenode and Lacayo
Also present were City Manager/City Clerk Dartell Essex, City Attorney James E.
Erickson, and the following members of the City Staff: Dunlap, Poertner,
Grissom, Nudson and Savord.
COUNCILMAN FANODE ARRIVED AT 3:04 P.M. AND TOOK HIS PLACE ON THE PODIUM.
At this time, Police Chief George Savord presented a briefing on the
police policies and procedures which would be utilized in the event of campus
disorders°
COUNCILMAN LACAYO ARRIVED AT 3:23 P.M. AND TOOK HIS PLACE ON THE PODIUM.

Following the presentation by the Chief of Police, it was moved by Councilman
Roberrs, seconded by Councilman Lacayo and unanimously carried to go into an
Executive Session with the Council, Chief of Police, City Manager and City Attorney
at 3:30 p.m. to discuss matters of security, personnel, and attomey-client matters,
in relation to major civil disturbances. The meeting was called back to order at
4:01 pom, with all Councilman present°
ADJ OUKNMENT:
It was moved by Councilman Kenode, seconded by Councilman Lacayo and unanimously
carried to adjourn the meeting at 4:02 p.m.
