OF THE CYPRESS CITY COUNCIL
HELD
April 5, 1971
A special meeting of the Cypress City Council was called to order at 7:35 p.m.,
on Monday, April 5, 1971, in the City Council Chambers, 5275 Orange Avenue, Cypress,
California, Mayor John Kenel presiding.
PRESENT: Council~n Harvey, Kenode, Lacayo, Roberrs and Kenel
ABSENT: None
Also present were City Manager/City Clerk Darrell Essex, City Attorney James E.
Erickson end the Assistant City Attorney, Len Hampel.
EXECUTIVE SESSION:
It was moved by Mayor Kanel, seconded by Councilmen Kenode and unenimouely carried
to go into an Executive Session at 7:36 p.m., to discuss litigation regarding the
Cypress County Water District. The meeting was called back to order at 9:30 p.m.,
with all Councilmen present~
RECESS:
Mayor Fanel declared a recess at 9:31 p.m., until such tim as judge Vincent
returned to the meeting. The meeting was called back to order at 10:00 p.m.,
with the following Councilmen present:
PRESENT: Councilmen Harvey, Kanode, Roberrs and Kanel
ABSENT: Councilman Lacayo
EXECUTIVE SESSION:
It was moved by Mayor Kanel, seconded by Councilman Kanode and unanimously carried
to go into an Executive Session at 10:01 p.m~, to discuss litigation regarding the
Cypress Co%mty Water District.
COUNCILMAN LACAYO ARRIVED AT 10:15 P oM.
The meeting was called back to order at 10:30 pore., with all Councilmen present
The Assistant City Attorney, Mr~ Hampel, read in full, the proposed settlement
between the City of Cypress and the Cypress County Water District, end advised
the City Council that if the terms of the settlemant were acceptable to the City,
a Minute Action to that effect would be required.
It was moved by Councilman Roberrs and seconded by Councilman Lacayo to accept the
settlement offer as outlined by the Assistant City Attorney. The motion was
unanimously carried by the following roll call vote:

meeting was called back to order at 10:55 p.m., with all Councilmen present,
The City Council and City Attorney expressed their appreciation to Judge Vincent,
in his efforts in resolving the litigation between the City and the Cypress County
Water District.
It was moved by Councilman Kenode, seconded by Councilman Roberrs and tmanimously
carried to adjourn at 11:00 p.m.
