OF THE CYPRESS CITY COUNCIL
HELD
July 8, 1975
The special meeting of the Cypress City Council was
called to order at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 1975
in the Cypress City Council Chambers, 5275 Orange Avenue,
Cypress, California, Mayor Alice Frankiewich presiding.
PRESENT:
ABSENT:
Councilmen Harvey, Kanel and Frankiewich
Councilmen Lacayo and Sonju
Also present was City Manager/City Clerk Darrell Essex.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Councilman Kanel led the pledge of
allegiance to the flag.
ORAL COMMUNICATIONS: Mayor Frankiewich inquired if there
was anyone who wished to speak in regard to any matter not
on the agenda.
Mrs. Rebecca Joiner, 10801 Knott Avenue, Startton, California,
expressed appreciation to those who had assisted in the
election on the referendum and presented a communication
from the property owners rescinding their previous action
in requesting annexation to the City of Cypress.
CONSIDERATION OF A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE
SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON JULY 1, 1975: The City
Manager presented a report dated July 7, 1975 which trans-
mitted Resolution No. 1619 declaring the result of the
canvass of votes of the special municipal election.
It was moved by Councilman Harvey and seconded by Council-
man Kanel to adopt the following Resolution by title only,
title as follows:
RESOLUTION NO. 1621
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF CYPRESS, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF
THE SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN SAID
CITY OF CYPRESS ON THE 1ST DAY OF JULY, 1975,
AND DECLARING THE RESULT OF THE CANVASS OF THE
ELECTION RETURNS.
The motion was unanimously carried by the following roll
call vote
AYES 3 COUNCILMEN: Harvey, Kanel and Frankiewich
NOES 0 COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT: 2 COUNCILMEN: Lacayo and Sonju
ADJOURNMENT:
It was moved by Councilman Kanel, seconded by Councilman
Harvey and unanimously carried to adjourn the meeting at
8:00 p.m.
