RESOLUTION NO. 6063
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS,
CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE "AVIOD THE 28"
ORANGE COUNTY REGIONAL DUI CAMPAIGN AND AGREEMENT WITH THE
OFFICE OF TRAFFIC SAFETY GRANT GOALS IN THEIR ENTIRETY.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cypress desires to participate with the
State of California Business, Transportation, and Housing Agency Office of Traffic
Safety and the City of Anaheim; and
WHEREAS, the "Avoid the 28" Regional DUI Campaign grant is intended to
provide for the development of a Traffic Safety Program to reduce the number of fatal
and injury collisions in the City by increasing selective enforcement, DUI checkpoints,
and to reduce alcohol-related injury collisions by increasing enforcement, heighten
public awareness by contacting local businesses, schools and members of the public,
to accomplish those other objectives of the Traffic Services Project as more specifically
set forth in the Grant Application for the "Avoid the 28" Regional DUI Campaign.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS DOES
RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City of Cypress Police Department is authorized to execute a
memorandum of understanding between the City of Anaheim and the City of Cypress to
further the goals of the Office of Traffic Safety's "Avoid the 28" Regional DUI Campaign.
SECTION 2. The City of Cypress agrees to support the Office of Traffic Safety's
"Avoid the 28" Regional DUI Campaign grant goals in their entirety.
PASSED AND ADOPTED, by the City Council of the City of Cypress at a regular
meeting held on the 13th day of November, 2007.
