A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS,
AND ACTING AS EX- OFFICIO BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE CYPRESS
RECREATION AND PARK DISTRICT, AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 6451
ESTABLISHING HOURLY PAY RANGES FOR TEMPORARY
PART -TIME AND SEASONAL POSITIONS.

WHEREAS, when a classification has a part -time and full -time designation, they are
paid the same hourly rate; and
WHEREAS, increases to the full -time classifications of Office Assistant and
Department Directors are anticipated to occur effective July 3, 2015; and
WHEREAS, the California minimum wage will increase to $10.00 on January 1, 2016;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of
Cypress, and acting as ex- officio Board of Directors of the Cypress Recreation and Park
District, that Resolution No. 6451 be amended as indicated below:
SECTION 1. Hourly Pay Ranges
Temporary part-time and seasonal employees in the positions indicated shall be
compensated as follows:
• Attachment "A" effective July 3, 2015 through December 17, 2015
• Attachment "B" effective December 18, 2015
SECTION 2. A temporary part-time and seasonal employee is eligible for a merit
increase within the salary range established for the position based on acceptable job
performance as approved by the Department Head and provided that the employee has
worked a minimum number of hours from the date of appointment or the date of the last merit
increase as indicated on the Attachment.
SECTION 3. A temporary part-time and seasonal employee must meet the
qualifications of a position as specified in the job specification in order to qualify for a
promotion to a position with a higher rate of pay and more responsible duties. In addition, all
promotions shall be based on acceptable job performance as approved by the Department
Head.
SECTION 4. Incumbents of temporary part-time and seasonal positions receive no
benefits except those required by State and Federal Law.
SECTION 5. The pay ranges in this Resolution shall become effective on July 3, 2015
and all resolutions and parts of resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby rescinded.
