AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CYPRESS AMENDING ARTICLE XI, SECTIONS 16 -65 -
16 -68 OF THE CYPRESS CITY CODE PERTAINING TO
STOPPING, STANDING, OR PARKING RESTRICTED OR
PROHIBITED ON CERTAIN STREETS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS DOES HEREBY ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: Sections 16 -65 to 16 -68 of the Cypress City Code
hereby are amended to read as follows:
Sec. 16 -65. Twenty -four Minute Parking.
Green curb marking shall mean no standing or parking for a
period of time longer than twenty -four minutes at any time
between 9:00 A.M. and 9:00 P.M. on any day except Sundays and
holidays.
When authorized signs or curb markings have been determined
by the city traffic engineer to be necessary and are in place
giving notice thereof no operator of any vehicle shall stop,
stand, or park such vehicle adjacent to any such legible curb
marking or sign or parking meter in violation thereof.
Sec. 16 -66. Forty Minute Parking.
When authorized signs or curb markings have been determined
by the city traffic engineer to be necessary and are in place
giving notice thereof, no operator of any vehicle shall stop,
stand, or park such vehicle between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and
9:00 P.M. of any day except Sundays and holidays for a period
of time longer than forty minutes.
Sec. 16 -67. One Hour Parking.
When authorized signs or curb markings have been determined
by the city traffic engineer to be necessary and are in place
giving notice thereof, no operator of any vehicle shall stop,
stand, or park such vehicle between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and
9:00 P.M. of any day except Sundays and holidays for a period
of time longer than one hour.
Sec. 16 -68. Two Hour Parking.
When authorized signs or curb markings have been determined
by the city traffic engineer to be necessary and are in place
giving notice thereof, no operator of any vehicle shall stop,
stand, or park such vehicle between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and
9:00 P.M. of any day except Sundays and holidays for a period
of time longer than two hours.
SECTION II: If any section, subsection, subdivision, sentence,
clause, phrase, or portion of this Ordinance, or the application
thereof to any person or place, is for any reason held to be
invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of
competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity
of the remaining portions of this Ordinance or its application
to other persons or places. The City Council hereby declares
that it would have adopted this Ordinance, and each section,
subsection, subdivision, sentence, clause, phrase or portion
thereof, irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections,
subsections, subdivisions, sentences, clauses, phrases, or portions,
or the application thereof to any person or place, be declared
invalid or unconstitutional.
SECTION III: The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
certify as to the passage of this ordinance and to give notice
thereof by causing copies of this ordinance to be posted in
three public places throughout the City.
FIRST READ at a regular meeting of the City Council of the
City of Cypress held on the 9th day of November 1987, and
finally adopted and ordered posted at a regular meeting of said
Council held on the 23rd day of November , 1987.
