AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF CYPRESS AMENDING SECTION
15.3(F)(6) OF APPENDIX I, "ZONING,"
OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS
RELATIVE TO BUS SHELTER AGREEMENTS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS DOES ORDAIN
AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Section 15.3(F)(6) of Appendix I, "Zoning," of
the Code of the City of Cypress is hereby amended to read as
follows:
"A written agreement shall be entered
into between the bus shelter supplier and
the City."
SECTION II. If any section, subsection, subdivision,
sentence, clause, phrase, or portion of this Ordinance, or
the application thereof to any person or place, is for any
reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the
decisiOn of any court of competent jurisdiction, such
decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions of this Ordinance or its application to other
persons or places. The City Council hereby declares that it
would have adopted this Ordinance, and each section,
subsection, subdivision, sentence, clause, phrase, or
portion thereof, irrespective of the fact that any one or
more sections, subsections, subdivisions, sentences,
clauses, phrases or portions of the application thereof to
any person or place, be declared invalid or
unconstitutional.
SECTION III. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to certify as to the passage of this Ordinance and
to give notice thereof by causing copies of this Ordinance
to be posted in three public places throughout the City.
FIRST READ at a regular meeting of the City Council
of said City held on the 12th day of September
1988, and finally adopted and order posted at a regular
meeting held on the 26th day of September ,

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CYPRESS AMENDING SECTION 2 -3.3 OF
THE CODE OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS ADJUSTING
COUNCIL COMPENSATION AS AUTHORIZED BY
STATE LAW.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cypress,
as a Charter City, may adjust compensation of Council
Members in conformity with provisions of its Charter; and,
WHEREAS, the Charter allows for adjusting Council
Members compensation consistent with the amounts established
by the California Government Code; and,
WHEREAS, notwithstanding the statutory provisions
for changes in compensation due to the cost of living, the
compensation for City Council Members in the City of Cypress
has not changed since 1985; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires, consistent with
the provisions of its Charter, to adjust compensation as of
the effective date of this Ordinance to reflect the
appropriate level of compensation permissively set forth in
the Government Code for a city with a population such as
that of the City of Cypress.
NOW THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
CYPRESS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I. Section 2 -3.3 of the Code of the City of
Cypress shall be amended to read as follows:
"(a) Each member of the Council of
the City shall receive as salary the sum
of Four Hundred Dollars ($400.00) per
month, which amount is based upon the
compensation set forth in Section 36516
of the Government Code for cities over
35,000 up to and including 50,000 in
population; and such sum is hereby
adjusted to provide for the 5% statutory
increase for the year 1988. City Council
salaries shall therefore be Four Hundred
Twenty Dollars ($420.00) per month
commencing upon the first day of the
month following the reorganization of the
City Council after the November 8, 1988
election. Such salaries shall be payable
at the same time and in the same manner
as the salaries are paid to other
officers and employees of the City."
SECTION II. If any section, subsection, subdivision,
sentence, clause, phrase, or portion of this Ordinance, or
the application thereof to any person or place, is for any
reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the
decision of any court of competent jurisdiction, such
