WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Cypress,
as a Charter City, may adjust compensation of Council
Members in conformity with provisions of its Charter; and,
WHEREAS, the Charter allows for adjusting Council
Members compensation consistent with the amounts established
by the California Government Code; and,
WHEREAS, notwithstanding the statutory provisions
for changes in compensation due to the cost of living, the
compensation for City Council Members in the City of Cypress
has not changed since 1985; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council desires, consistent with
the provisions of its Charter, to adjust compensation as of
the effective date of this Ordinance to reflect the

salaries shall therefore be Four Hundred
Twenty Dollars ($420.00) per month
commencing upon the first day of the
month following the reorganization of the
City Council after the November 8, 1988
