AN URGENCY ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS
PROPOSING AN AMENDMENT TO ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 90 BY ADOPTING
PRE - ANNEXATION ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF A CERTAIN PARCEL OF
LAND FROM ORANGE COUNTY ZONE CLASSIFICATION R -4 TO CITY OF
CYPRESS ZONE CLASSIFICATION R -3 (MULTIPLE - FAMILY RESIDENTIAL).
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION I: Ordinance No. 90, which Ordinance is the Zoning Ordinance
of the City of Cypress, is amended by placing the property described in
Section II hereof, in the R -3 (Multiple- Family Residential) Zone. This
ordinance not to become effective until property is annexed into the
City of Cypress.
SECTION II: The property which is the subject of this Ordinance is
described as follows:
A11 that certain land situated in the State of California, County of
Orange, described as follows:
Beginning at the point of intersection of the Quarter Section line
running North and South through the center of Section 9, Township 4
South, Range 11 West, S.B.B. & M., with the Easterly prolongation of the
Northerly line of Lot 8 in Block 3 of "Cypress ", as shown on a map of
a portion of Cypress recorded in Book 7, page 19 of Miscellaneous Maps,
records of Orange County, California, and running thence from said
point of beginning Northerly along said North and South quarter section
line, 239.30 feet; thence Westerly along a line parallel with the
Northerly line of the above mentioned Block 3, 1054.02 feet, more or
less, to an intersection with the Northeasterly line of the right
of way of the Pacific Electric Railway Company; thence Southeasterly
along said Northeasterly right of way line, 493.37 feet, more or less,
to the intersection with the Northerly prolongation of the center line
of Watson Street; thence Northerly along said projected centerline
to its intersection with the Northwesterly projection of the North-
easterly line of Lot "A" as shown on said map; thence Southeasterly
along the Northeasterly line of said Lot "A" and its projection to
its intersection with the Westerly projection of the Northerly line
of said Block 3; thence East along said Northerly line and its
Easterly and Westerly projections 402.21 feet, more or less, to the
point of beginning.
SECTION III: The City Council of the City of Cypress hereby declares
that the following facts constitute the urgency requiring this Ordinance to
take effect as an Urgency Ordinance:
The property would be annexed to the City without zoning. It is
necessary to protect the property from uncontrolled development.
The City Council hag initiated eddies for the permanent rezoning
of this property.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Cypress at an
adjourned regular meeting held on the 20th day of September, 1971.
