AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS FIXING THE MUNICIPAL
TAX RATE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1970 -71
WHEREAS, the City of Cypress is a general law city incorporated under
the laws of the State of California, and situated in Orange County, California;
and
WHEREAS, Section 51511 of the Government Code requires the City Council
annually before September 1st to fix the rate of taxes designated in the number
of cents upon each One Hundred Dollars ($100), using as a basis the value of
the property as assessed and equalized; and
WHEREAS, said Section of the Government Code requires that the rate shall
be sufficient to raise the amount fixed by ordinance and pay the expense of
collection.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Cypress DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Tax Rate:
There is hereby levied a tax in the amount of $ .95 for each One
Hundred Dollars ($100) of all of the taxable assessed property within the
City of Cypress at the equalized value thereof, for the 1970 -71 fiscal year.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall cause certified copies of this Ordinance
to be filed with the County Auditor, Assessor, and Tax Collector of the County
of Orange immediately upon its adoption.
SECTION 3. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 36937 (subsection d)
of the Government Code, this Ordinance shall take effect immediately as it
is an Ordinance which fixes the rate of tax to be levied.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Cypress at an
adjourned regular meeting held on the 31st day of August, 1970.
