A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CYPRESS
REQUESTING THE ORANGE COUNTY TRANSPORTATION AUTHORITY TO
ALLOCATE COMBINED TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM FUNDS FOR
LINCOLN AVENUE TRAFFIC SIGNAL INTERCONNECT PROJECT
WHEREAS, the Orange County Transportation Authority approved a Combined
Transportation Funding Program (CTFP) for Fiscal Year 1993 -94; and
WHEREAS, the program includes $230,000.00 in Fiscal Year 1993 -94 for a traffic signal
interconnect project on Lincoln Avenue between Bloomfield Avenue and East Street; and
WHEREAS, the City of Cypress has adopted a General Plan Circulation Element which
does not preclude implementation of the MPAH within its jurisdiction; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Cypress hereby requests the
Orange County Transportation Authority allocate $204,103.00 of CTFP from the Growth
Management Program for design/construction of said project to the City. This request is in
conformance with the CTFP allocation process and does not exceed ninety (90) percent of the
programmed amount or ninety (90) percent of the design/construction contracts.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Cypress agrees to fund its share of the
improvement costs of the above indicated fiscal year and any additional costs over the identified
programmed amount.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Cypress has awarded the design contract
for the project on February 14, 1994, for $120,800.00.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Cypress has awarded the construction
contract and purchased equipment for the project on June 13, 1994, for $240,661.45.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City of Cypress has: 1) designed the project
improvements, and 2) completed the required preparatory work in accordance with the standards
required by the City and other affected jurisdictions involved with said project.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the remaining ten (10) percent in CTFP funds will
be transferred to the City of Cypress when construction is completed and a Final Report on the
project is accepted by the Orange County Transportation Authority. The City of Cypress agrees
to submit the final report to the Orange County Transportation Authority within one hundred
twenty (120) days after the City's acceptance of the improvements.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Cypress at a regular
meeting held on the 27th day of June, 1994.
